Daniel James Design Launches Flag Ship Website : Pure Spirit Drinks
Daniel James Design is proud to launch our flag ship website built using the new e-commerce software, Magento. Pure Spirit Drinks has been built to be expanded and holds a large catalogue of spirits which is frequently being added to.
The features shown below include some custom extensions from Magento Connect which have been added to the site to extend usability and add new features to the Magento system.
CMS based E-commerce system:-
- Totally customisable using what Magento calls ‘Static Blocks’ (easily editable by client using WYSIWYG extension)
- Wish Lists – built into the system, customers can share wish lists with friends and family and even subscribe to RSS feeds which will automatically update when their friends adds something to the list
- Discounts - can be assigned easily and set to run only for a certain amount of time, be used a certain amount of times or even limited to x uses per customer with many other conditions configurable also.
- Shipping – complex CSV matrix system of shipping information allows complete control over shipping from destination to services offered per area and based on weight.
- Cross Sells & Up-Sells - set certain products to be ‘suggested/recommended’ more than others as well as setting up ‘if you’re looking/buying this you may also be interested in this’, an Amazon system that is proven to work
- Zoom Slider Images – multiple images per product as well as a zoom slider for customers to interactively zoom on a product to see it closer.
- Searches - searches for customers is quick and efficent and provides a high level of feedback for clients who can see what was searched and how many results the search yielded as well as setting up redirections for future searches (helps with mis-spelling a lot).
- Familiar – choices from 1,2 or the most popular 3 column set-up that is familiar to customers using other shopping sites.
- Dashboard - admins get a detailed at-a-glance style information area which shows most viewed products, best sellers, most popular searches, sales and dates/times of sales (for viewing trends) as well as being able to print reports which show total profit including or excluding cost price and shipping prices.
- Google Base – integration with Google Base enables quick and easy submission to Googles shopping searches
- Calendar/Blog – Calendar of upcoming events and blog system built in
- SEO – SEO friendly URLs i.e. /beer/bathams-beer rather than /beer/id23535 as well as meta information per product and per page as well as allowing customers to ‘tag’ products
- Customer Interaction - allows customers to submit reviews which can help others decide whether to buy a product or not
- Stock Control – complete control over stock levels as well as allowing products to go on ‘back order’ if you wish and also an RSS feed for you which can be configured to let you know when stock levels are below x amount on products, giving you an easy way to see what needs ordering.
- PayPal & Worldpay - integrated
- Magento Connect – gives an easy way to add new functions to the website and update it easily, often without an technical knowledge necessary
- Social Media - in this particular site we have added Twitter which shows the latest ‘tweet’ on pages as well as Facebook Connect which allows customers to log into their Facebook account and ask a friend what they think of a product, with replies shown within the product page.
